چکیده

In mobile communication systems, the received signal power varies due to fading, shadowing and path loss, resulting in the transmission performance degradation. Transmit antenna diversity is a promising technique to improve the transmission performance. For the downlink transmission, the outage probability in a service area can be improved by distributing the transmit antennas over the service area instead of using all of them at the same location (i.e., a base station). This is because the slowly varying local average received signal power due to the shadowing and distance-dependent path losses can be mitigated. In this paper, we evaluate the channel capacity distribution obtainable a distributed antenna system (DAS) using maximal ratio transmission (MRT) diversity. We discuss the effects of the number of antennas, path loss exponent, and shadowing loss standard deviation on the distribution of channel capacity. Keywords-Maximal ratio transmission, distributed antenna systems, channel capacity

A Study on Frequency Efficiencies of Distributed Antenna Network in Cellular System

Abstract In mobile communication systems, the received signal level varies due to fading, shadowing and path loss and therefore, the transmission performance degrades. Instead of using all of transmit antennas at one position, the outage probability in a service area can be improved by distributed antenna network (DAN) in which transmit antennas are distributed over the service area to transmit...

Joint Water Filling-MRT Downlink Transmit Diversity for a Broadband Single-Carrier Distributed Antenna Network

In this paper, joint water filling and maximal ratio transmission (joint WF-MRT) downlink transmit diversity for a single-carrier distributed antenna network (SC DAN) is proposed. The joint WF-MRT transmit weight allocates the transmit power in both transmit antenna dimension and frequency dimension, i.e., the power allocation is done both across frequencies based on WF theorem and across trans...

Channel Capacity of Distributed Antenna Network Using Transmit/Receive Diversity in a Multi-cell Environment

Distributed antenna network (DAN) is a promising wireless network which can mitigate the impacts of distancedependent/shadowing losses and fading. Frequency-domain space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive diversity (FDSTBC-JTRD) is an antenna diversity technique which allows an arbitrary number of transmit antennas while keeping the coding rate constant and is suitable for the downlink tra...

Multiple Antennas Effect on UWB Rake Receiver Performance

This paper discusses the enhancement of the proposed UWB antenna design that can be used in wireless UWB systems. The small antenna design was simulated by CST software to present the performance of the main antenna parameters. The return loss is less than -10 dB from 3.5 GHz to 10.8 GHz which is covering the UWB bandwidth. This antenna was applied in multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) scheme in i...

Adaptive Transmission with Multiuser TAS/MRC Systems over Exponentially Correlated Rayleigh Fading Channels

Abstract—This paper analyzes the channel capacity for multiuser Transmit antenna selection (TAS) / Maximal ratio combining (MRC) system over exponentially correlated Rayleigh fading channels. TAS scheme reduces the hardware complexity and the number of RF chains in MIMO systems and MRC is a diversity technique which provides optimal performance. The correlation is almost unavoidable in spatial ...
